Visit to Ibrihim Roza

IBRAHIM ROZA

We visited Ibrihim roza...

Ibrahim Roza, located in Bijapur, karnataka, India, was constructed by Ibrahim Adil Shah II in 1626 for his queen, Taj Sultan. It is one of the supreme achievement of Adil shahis .The minarets, or prayer towers, are 24 m (about 79 ft) high and may have inspired those of the Taj Mahal.Ibrahim Rauza comprises two buildings, a magnificent tomb and a remarkable mosque enveloped by a garden. Facing each other, these twin buildings have a fountain in between them. Ibrahim Adil Shah and his family are buried here. This whole structure lies above a basement which houses secret passages (used to store munitions and food) and also holds living quarters for the cavalry, with stables opposite.
